Reconstruída en 1550 polo mestre de obra Juan de Bergantiños e derrubada en 1872 dentro da política dos ensanches, a Porta da Vila, acceso principal ao recinto amurallado, estaba coroada por torreóns ameados e polos escudos de Galicia, Castela e da propia cidade, hoxe integrados no muro dunha vivenda privada.

Rebuilt in 1550 by the master builder Juan of Bergantiños this gate was demosished by means of the racionalist policy of urban expansion in 1872 The Village Gate, the main entrance to the awalled enclosure, was crowned by crenelated fortified turrets and by a coat of arms Galicia, Castilla and the city itself, today integrated in the muro of a private house.
