Higgins Field was founded in 1992, and its facilities are on land leased from Benton County at the 900-acre Horn Rapids Park. The airfield is leased and operated by the Miniature Aircraft Association.
Besides two runways, the facility also includes a shop building and a clubhouse/kitchen. Higgins Field has hosted several events, including the International Miniature Aircraft Convention.
