En me promenant dans les rues de Bastia, je découvre sur ce bâtiment fraichement rénové, cette ancienne publicité de machine à coudre de la marque Singer. La plaque semble en zinc et il ne reste plus que les reliefs pour deviner la publicité.

Walking through the streets of Bastia, I discover on this freshly renovated building, this old Singer sewing machine advertisement. The plate seems to be made of zinc and there are only the reliefs left to guess the advertising.
Halfway between Place Saint Nicolas and the Old Port, the market square, called "u mercà" by the Bastians, is without doubt one of the most picturesque areas of the city.

L'entreprise Singer a été établie sous le nom I.M. Singer & Co. en 1851 par Isaac Merritt Singer. Principalement connue pour ses machines à coudre, elle a été renommée Singer Manufacturing Company en 1865, puis The Singer Company en 1963. À l'origine, tous ses produits étaient fabriqués dans ses usines à New York.
