This Statue of Liberty is a fitting icon to be placed next to a Veterans of Foreign Wars memorial. This Lady Liberty stands at the entrance to the Poteet Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6970's parking lot. This replica of the famous statue is standing behind the VFW Post's war memorial to the veterans of foreign wars. It is appropriate for a Statue of Liberty to represent the VFW Post because these soldiers, sailors and airmen fought for the freedoms of those in foreign lands while the statue represents the position of the USA as welcoming emigrants from those foreign lands to come live in America.
This statue is standing on a short, round, concrete column. Her right arm is raised high above her head while holding a torch That is adapted with an electric light inside a clear globe; and in her left arm she cradles a tablet inscribed with the date in Roman Numerals that translates to July 4, 1776. The statue overall is a pale green color representing the patina of the original statue.
The original Statue of Liberty was gifted to the USA by France and is placed on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. Link to facts about the location of the real Statue of Liberty:
