The former CWA building is a timber framed asbestos clad building with a Dutch gable roof, constructed in 1942 to serve as the AWC Woman's Recreation Room. The CWA used the building until it ceased operations in 1978. From 1983 Youth Hostels of Australia used the building as a back packers hostel. Today it is a restaurant and wine bar.
