The plaque says, "opened in 1925 as a vaudeville and silent movie theater. It was the site of many important White House Press conferences during the Administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, as well as the world premiere of the movie "Gettysburg." The Majestic has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior."
