"The endowment of this type of equipment is limited to the Consistorial House, located in the capital of the municipality. The building consists of two floors and a basement. Next to this building are the Almeda do Concello, the Anxo Munín municipal sports center, the municipal swimming pool and the new Cultural Center, which houses the Ethnographic Museum, the Auditorium and the Municipal Library. The City Council of A Peroxa has a series of services that any resident and visitor to the municipality can count on, in a working day from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 14:00.

"The municipality can be reached from Gustey , deviating from the N-525 from Orense to Santiago, or from Orense itself in the direction of Oira , following the right bank of the river Miño and entering La Peroja through Barra de Miño .
The relief of the municipality presents a morphology clearly structured in three units: a low mountain sector, between 600 and 800 meters of altitude, which extends through the parishes of Souto, Mirallos, Toubes, Armental and part of Celaguantes. Here, the topography is quite rugged, formed by numerous hills worn down by erosion. As we descend in altitude, between 400 and 600 meters, we run into the second half. This, which includes the parishes of Gueral, Villarrubín and La Peroja, appears configured by flattening surfaces, known as "Os Chaos" (plateaus). Finally, the third geographical unit is formed by the valley lands that are arranged next to the Barra and Miño rivers, the two main river courses that, together with the Búbal and the Lentomil stream, they drain the municipal term. The oceanic climate with southern nuances, favors a varied vegetation, although typical tree species predominate (pine, horse chestnut, chestnut and amieiros in the valleys), while most of the mountains only have scrub.
The presence of ancient settlers in the municipality is manifested through the existence of castros remains (a species of settlements characteristic of the Celtic settlers) and some archaeological remains that testify to the presence of Palaeolithic settlements. Later, the construction of the Roman road "Aquas Flavias-Lucus", which passed through the vicinity of the municipality, made possible the formation of new population centers.
During the Middle Ages, the presence of the Count of Ribadavia was significant, who came to dominate most of the parishes that make up the municipality. The lordship exercised in these lands by the Bishopric of Orense, administered by Villarrubín and Toubes, was also important, while the parish of San Ciprián de Armental belonged to the lordship of Don Pedro Losada and that of Beacán to the Benedictine monastery of San Esteban de Ribas de Sil.
The excessive tax burdens to which the peasants of the area were subjected, led, especially in the parishes of Graices and Souto, the creation of powerful agrarian organizations of a revolutionary character (agrarismo), whose purpose was to suppress the feudal system and combat the abuses of the lordships, which maintained their privileges through the collection of large income in kind, until the end of 1920.
