The Sylvanus Brown House was moved to the Slater Mill Historic Site in order to display typical house of the colonial era. It is furnished with equipment such as spinning wheels and hand looms.

The red, wood sided structure with a gambrel roof was built in 1758. It was the home of Sylvanus Brown who was carpenter and pattern maker who lived here from 1784 to 1824. Brown designed models of machine parts for Samuel Slater.
