Opened in 1914, this 57-acre facility is home to 750 species of animals from 6 continents, including some of the rarest birds and mammals in the world, such as Guam kingfisher, Attwater's prairie chicken, and black rhinoceros. Exhibits include Africa Live!, Hixon Bird House, Big Cat Valley, Wild Australia, and Outpost Amazonia. Nearby, there is a narrow gauge railway that takes visitors around Brackenridge Park.
