"La estatua de los hermanos García Naveira es, sin duda, una de las imágenes más reconocibles de estos dos emigrantes retornados de Argentina a los que se les debe, entre otras aportaciones, el Parque Enciclopédico del Pasatiempo, Las escuelas y el Lavadero Público de As Cascas. Originalmente situada en los jardines del Carregal, la representación cuenta con un detalle que no debe pasar desapercibido al curioso, mientras uno de los hermanos habla por teléfono con la Caridad (estatua aún presente en las inmediaciones del campo de fútbol, el otro señalaba [en su ubicación original] una de sus obras más caritativas: el Asilo de ancianos."
