Musical Fence
Created in 1996 by Paul Matisse, who is a designer, inventor and grandson of Henri Matisse.
Everyone can create music by gently tapping the aluminum bars of varying heights while standing or walking along the concrete base of this musical fence.
"The Musical Fence came out of my enthusiasm for being able to make music without having to know exactly how to do it. Strike the bars gently for the best sound. Put your ears against the beam while someone else is playing. And when you play, listen for the birds in the distance. The quieter your song the farther it will travel and the more beautiful it will be." - Paul Matisse
Sun Gongs
The six Sun Gongs of varying sizes encourage visitors to experiment with tonal changes based on the varying sizes of the gongs.
Try creating your own song pattern and see how the sounds vary as you play.
