Description:
The memorial consists of a marble pyramid adorned on one side with a bronze sculpture of a seagull, its wings extended as it gracefully lights on a small ledge near the base. The seagull sybolizes the sea and the pyramid symbolizes the stability, endurance, and reliability of the U.S. Coast Guard. Above the seagull the U.S. Coast Guard insignia is carved in relief. The memorial rests atop a granite base."
