DE: Anlässlich des im Jahr 1987 durchgeführten Neubaus der Brücke in der Frechener Straße im Brühler Stadtteil Vochem über die Bahnschienen schuf der Bildhauer Wienhold Gernemann eine kleine Bronzeplastik, die auf einem Betonsockel angebracht wurde. Die etwa 50cm breite und etwa 15cm hohe Plastik selbst erfüllt die Form einer Brücke, indem sie einen Bogen aufspannt. Ändert man dann ein wenig den Blickwinkel, erhält man den Eindruck, dass sich hier zwei Menschen die Hände reichen und so ebenfalls eine Brücke bilden.
An dem Betonsockel wurde eine ebenfalls aus Bronze erstellte Platte angebracht, die den Text "Die Brücke - Anläßlich der Erstellung im Jahr 1987 - Wienhold Gernemann" trägt.
Über den Künstler: Wienhold Gernemann wurde 1926 in Münsterland geboren und wurde Ende der 1940er Lehrer für Kunst und Werken. Mit den von ihm in seiner Freizeit geschaffenen Skulpturen, die über das Münsterland hinaus bekannt wurden, stellte er neben einigen biblischen Motiven oft menschliche Emotionen wie Trauer, Liebe und Hoffnung dar. Wienhold Gernemann starb im Jahr 2009.

EN: On the occasion of the new construction of the bridge in Frechener Strasse in the Brühl district of Vochem over the railway tracks in 1987, the sculptor Wienhold Gernemann created a small bronze sculpture that was attached to a concrete base. The approximately 50cm wide and 15cm high plastic itself has the shape of a bridge by spanning an arch. If you then change the perspective a little, you get the impression that two people are shaking hands and thus also forming a bridge.
A plate, also made of bronze, was attached to the concrete base, bearing the text "The bridge - on the occasion of its construction in 1987 - Wienhold Gernemann".
On the artist: Wienhold Gernemann was born in Münsterland in 1926 and became a teacher of art and handicrafts in the late 1940s. With the sculptures he created in his spare time, which became known beyond the Münsterland, he often depicted human emotions such as grief, love and hope in addition to some biblical motifs. Wienhold Gernemann died in 2009.
