"Kranium af mand i alderen 35-50 år. Manden er blevet gravlagt i Hulbjerg-jættestuen på Sydlangeland omkring 3000 f. Kr. Mandens kindtænder i højre side har været angrebne af caries og tandrodsbetændelse. En af de smertende tænder har man søgt at behandle/trække ud ved at bore et hul mellem tandrødderne. Hullet er lavet med et drilbor med en lille flintspids. Spor af den roterende borespids ses tydeligt i hullet, der er verdens ældste vidnesbyrd om tandbehandling.

Manens kranium kan ses hos Langeland museum. Fundstedet - Hulbjerg jættestue - tager imod gæster og besøgende hele dagen, hele året.

English: Hulbjerg neolithic passagegrave on Sydlangeland. Extremely well-preserved megalithic tomb from the Peasant Stone Age around 3000 BC. Examined archaeologically by several rounds with numerous finds. The site is known for the earliest known example of dental treatment.

Found on this site was the skull of a man aged 35-50 years. The man has been buried in the Hulbjerg passage grave here on Sydlangeland around 3000 BC. The man's cheek teeth on the right side have been affected by caries and root canal inflammation. / pull out by drilling a hole between the tooth roots.The hole is made with a drill bit with a small flint tip.Traces of the rotating drill bit are clearly visible in the hole, which is the world's oldest evidence of dental treatment.

The man's skull can be seen at Langeland museum. The site - Hulbjerg burial ground - receives guests and visitors all day, all year round.
