An old hand rung school bell in St Michael's church, Shirley. Located in the east corner of the south aisle, the school bell is in a wooden, glass-fronted, display box. A tag has been affixed to the bell, which reads:

SHIRLEY VILLAGE SCHOOL BELL
Donated by ELIZABETH ALCOCK
In Memory of her Parents
JARDINE & BETTY CARRUTHERS
Formerly of THE OLD SCHOOL
From 1968 to 1974
