The sign says, "Three blacksmith shops have been erected on this spot. The original shop was built circa 1828-1830 for use by the blacksmith who lived in Frye House. It stood until 1922 when it was condemned and torn down. The second shop was built in 1976 and was later destroyed by a fire in 1986. This shop was built in 1990 and is sued for demonstrations throughout the year."
