This is a fading sign advertising Pepsi which had been painted on the brick of the side of a now abandoned building in Selma. The name Pepsi is still legible however, the color of the painting is now less prominent. Pepsi was created in 1893 in New Bern, North Carolina as 'Brad's Drink' by Caleb Bradham. In 1898 'Brad's Drink' was renamed Pepsi Cola and in 1961 the name was shortened to Pepsi.
