This memorial is located in Lions Park in Hagersville, Ontario. This shrub collection was planted as part of the Haldimand Memorial Aboretum to honour Dr. W.C. Powell on his 80th birthday in 1992 to and marking 50 years of medical practice in Hagersville.
Born in Tuxford, Saskatchewan, Dr. Powell began his career at Smokey Lake, Alberta, before moving to Hagersville. Over the 50 years he delivered 2,270 babies.
Dr. Powell continued to practice medicine for another 5 years, retiring in 1997. Dr. W. Clifford Powell passed away on November 8, 2014 at the age of 102.
