EN: The garage doors on Frechener Strasse in the Vochem district of Brühl were designed by graphic designer Paul Schneider as early as the 1970s. The last time the then 75-year-old revised some of the older works in 2006. Images inspired by Max Ernst's works of art can be found on some of the garages, but also a picture of a Chrysler classic car, an enlarged children's drawing, a stylized Mona Lisa with a tabloid newspaper and a picture of mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss.
Gauss is standing with dividers in hand on a globe, the surface of which is covered with surveying triangles and a stylized surveying network of the Kingdom of Hanover (between 1821 and 1825) in the background, which was also on the 10 DM note at the time.
