"Jan Zach (July 27, 1914, Slaný - August 27, 1986) was a Czech sculptor, painter and designer. At the turn of 1938 and 1939 he worked as an art painter in New York decorating the Czechoslovak pavilion for the World's Fair in 1939. He did not return to his homeland after the outbreak of World War II, but instead spent the 1940s in Brazil, where he also worked with Oscar Niemeyer.
