The Anglican Episcopal Church of St Peter and St Sigfrid. Known in Stockholm as The English Church (Engelska Kyrkan) located at Dag Hammarskjöldsväg 14, near the American and British embassies.
The church was built in Rörstrandsgatan in Normalm (later renamed Wallingatan). The first stone was laid on April 7, 1863 and the church was completed in 1866. It was consecrated by an American bishop, Rt. Pastor Dr. Henry Whitehouse.
However, there were several prominent churchgoers who were dissatisfied with the location of the church. In Rörstrandsgatan there were also several brothels, pubs and a prison. It was therefore suggested that the entire building be moved to another, more acceptable location. They managed to raise money for the move and the whole church was in 1913 then stone by stone moved to the new area which is a former Garnisions cemetery with various countries' embassies around.
