The three part "Crossing Time" display along the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge Path retells the history of crossing the Hudson River between the Nyacks and Terrytown, New York, first by ferry then bridges, from 1900 through 2019. It is installed 0.5 miles south of the Rockland Landing Welcome Center.
Each trio component is designed in a long horizontal format with an upward tilting placard mounted to a series of steel braces aligned south to north. The layouts include four decades per sign -- 1900s - 1940s, 1950s - 1980s, and 2000s - 2019 -- with a few historical highlights and photographs for each decade. You can see the text and images on the official path website: Timeline - Crossing Time.
The 3.6 mile path is free and open to the public from 6:00AM to 10:00PM daily, weather permitting.
Visit Instructions:At least one good photo you have personally obtained and a brief story of your visit. Any additions or corrections to the information about the Waymark (for instance, have the hours open to the public changed) will be greatly appreciated.
