"In the heart of Puerto del Carmen there is an area known as Grandes Playas, which includes Playa Grande, Los Pocillos and Matagorda. Los Pocillos beach is located in the middle of the three, it is more than 1 km long and with a width that in some sections exceeds 200 m. Of still sea and golden sand. The surface has very little inclination, so pools sometimes form at high tide. Parallel to the coastline runs Avenida de las Playas, the main artery of Puerto del Carmen. Between the avenue and the beach there is a wide promenade that has a garden area and a multitude of palm trees. The walk is somewhat elevated in relation to the beach."
