Descriptif
The parish of Dergneau was dismembered from that of Saint-Sauveur in 1550 because of the importance of the pilgrimage in honor of Saint Servatius, patron of the local church. This split was made against the will of the abbey of Saint-Denis-en-Broqueroie, collator of the cure since 1233. The abbey of Cambron had part of the tithes there, which had been given to it in 1201 by the count of Hainaut and Flanders Baudouin of Constantinople. Saint Servatius is venerated there in May, during the octave of his feast. It is invoked, as in Stambruges, for the cure of rheumatism and the protection of cattle.
