DE: Das Landschaftsschutzgebiet Himmelberg im Neusser Stadtteil Grimlinghausen war bekannt dafür, dass hier Verbrecher Unterschlupf finden können und wurde dementsprechend öfter von der Polizei kontrolliert. Karlheinz Zybell aus Berlin war nach einem Raubmord an einem Gießener Geschäftsmann im Juli 1961 auf der Flucht. Polizei-Hauptwachtmeister Friedhelm Noeldechen überprüfte mit seinem Kollegen am 5. August 1961 ein dort abgestelltes Fahrzeug, in dem sich Zybell mit einer Komplizin aufhielten. Zybell zückte eine Pistole und schoß mehrfach um sich, Noeldechen wurde dabei tödlich in den Kopf getroffen.

Am Tatort wurde später zum Gedenken an den getöteten Polizisten ein Stein aufgestellt, der Stein trägt die Inschrift "Pol. HptW Friedhelm Noeldechen - geb. 25.10.1934 am 5.8.1961 im Dienst erschossen"

EN: The Himmelberg nature reserve in the Grimlinghausen district of Neuss was known for the fact that criminals can find shelter here and was therefore checked more often by the police. Karlheinz Zybell from Berlin was on the run after a robbery and murder of a Giessen businessman in July 1961. Police chief constable Friedhelm Noeldechen and his colleague checked a vehicle parked there on August 5, 1961 in which Zybell was staying with an accomplice. Zybell pulled out a pistol and fired several times, Noeldechen was fatally hit in the head.

At the scene of the crime, a stone was later placed in memory of the killed police officer, the stone bears the inscription "Pol. HptW Friedhelm Noeldechen - born October 25, 1934 shot on duty on August 5, 1961"
