A simple name like the King's Head or the Queen's Head avoids the need to change the pub name when a new monarch ascends the throne.

In the case of the Queen's Head there aren't many to choose from especially as protocol dictates that reigning monarchs should not be displayed on pub signs, so that means there can be no pictures of Queen Elizabeth II.

In this case the picture is of Queen Victoria who reigned from 1837 to 1901 and used to be the longest reigning monarch of the UK, but Queen Elizabeth II has now reigned for longer.

The sign consists of a round photograph of an older looking Queen Victoria mounted in a round metal frame.
