Little Fort Fly and Tackle
At the corner of Highway 5 and Highway 24 is Little Fort Fly & Tackle. Steve Jennings opened Little Fort Fly and Tackle in 1990, 11 years after moving to the Little Fort area.
Little Fort Fly and Tackle is open everyday from May 1 to October 15 and has a huge selection of lures and artificial bait, and stock all the best local fly patterns and a full range of top quality fly fishing tackle. Licenses are available and local guides and maps.
Most importantly they stock live bait and offer worms including night crawlers, and minnows. There are dried shrimp, and a few other items Mr. Jennings mentioned that I was not familiar or remember.
Little Fort is the center for some of the best fly fishing in North America, with hundreds of quality lakes and several pristine rivers in the area. The area is well known for it wide mouth trout and kokanee drawing anglers from across British Columba and Canada.
Little Fort is a tiny community of approximately 300 residents with the economy boosted by traffic on the Yellowhead Highway, while relying on traditional businesses like farming and cattle ranching, forestry, fishing resorts, and guest ranches.
