Kirkeporten ( The Church gate) is a natural arch. From the arch there is a nice view to the North Cape Plateau and the North Cape Horn.
From the small fishing village Skarvåg there is a walk of about 600 meters, which, however, goes over a mountain.
The rock formations at Kirkeporten are very beautiful and large geological folds can be seen in several places. Kirkeporten itself has emerged from the influence of the sea for thousands of years
and is about 10 x 10 meters. You can both walk through and up to the top of the gate.
Kirkeporten has been a Sami sacrificial site in pre-Christian times.
