This market was donated to the city by Ramón González Fernández, an Indian who also supported other cultural initiatives in the town. Built in 1925 following the designs of the architect Ramiro Saiz, it has a beautiful exposed iron structure and an interesting composition of facades that give it elegance and functionality. Currently it continues to retain the same function.
In its surroundings, the weekly Ribadeo market takes place every Wednesday. In summer, the traditional Sunday market is also held here, dedicated to local and garden products.
