Le beffroi et la maison échevinale d'Alost (Belfort en Schepenhuis van Aalst en néerlandais), parfois appelés ancien hôtel de ville d'Alost, sont situés sur la Grand-Place de la ville belge d'Alost (Aalst en néerlandais) dans la province de Flandre-Orientale.

L'ensemble monumental est constitué, de gauche à droite, du beffroi proprement dit, de la maison échevinale (Schepenhuis en néerlandais) et d'une bretèche de style gothique flamboyant, appelée Gebiedshuisje en néerlandais.

Histoire

Le beffroi et la maison échevinale sont classés comme monument historique depuis le 13 octobre 1943 et figurent à l'Inventaire du patrimoine immobilier de la Région flamande sous la référence 44.

Depuis 1999, ils sont classés au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO au même titre que 32 autres beffrois belges.

Description

The belfry and the alderman's house in Aalst (Belfort en Schepenhuis van Aalst in Dutch), sometimes called the old town hall of Aalst, are located on the Grand-Place in the Belgian city of Aalst (Aalst in Dutch) in the province of East Flanders.

The monumental ensemble is made up, from left to right, of the belfry proper, the alderman house (Schepenhuis in Dutch) and a flamboyant Gothic style bretèche, called Gebiedshuisje in Dutch.

History

The belfry and the alderman's house have been classified as historical monuments since October 13, 1943 and appear in the Inventory of the building heritage of the Flemish Region under reference 44.

Since 1999, they have been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with 32 other Belgian belfries.

Beschrijving

Het belfort en het schepenhuis in Aalst (Belfort en Schepenhuis van Aalst in het Nederlands), ook wel het oude stadhuis van Aalst genoemd, bevinden zich op de Grote Markt in de Belgische stad Aalst (Aalst in het Nederlands) in de provincie Oost Vlaanderen.

Het monumentale ensemble bestaat van links naar rechts uit het eigenlijke belfort, het schepenhuis (Schepenhuis) en een flamboyante gotische bretèche, in het Nederlands Gebiedshuisje genoemd..

Historiek

Het belfort en het schepenhuis zijn sinds 13 oktober 1943 geklasseerd als historisch monument en komen voor in de Inventaris van het bouwpatrimonium van het Vlaamse Gewest onder referentie 44.

Sinds 1999 staan ??ze samen met 32 ??andere Belgische belforten op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO.
