There is a helicopter landing pad between the villages of Tranebjerg and Onsbjerg on the Danish island of Samsø, surrounded by two cornfields. The paving-stone landing area has a diameter of 25m and a traffic sign with the words "Helikopter landingplads" beside the paved path to the "Kongevejen" road indicates the landing area.
Since Samsø is a small island in the Baltic Sea and there is only one small hospital in Tranebjerg, the ferry time from Hou or Kalundborg with over an hour ferry time would be too long in an emergency. The landing area for helicopters was created accordingly.
