About the Sallandse Heuvelrug
"The Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park covers a large part of the ridge between Hellendoorn and Holten in Overijssel. The national park is located in its entirety south of the N35 Zwolle - Almelo, and includes the Haarlerberg, Holterberg, Noetselerberg and the Koningsbelten. The Hellendoornse Berg is located outside the national park, but is part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. The park is about 35 km² in size.
The highest point is the (Great) King's Belt, 75 meters above NAP. The most important managers are Staatsbosbeheer, Vereniging Natuurmonumenten, the water company Vitens (because of water extraction) and a number of private land owners. Since 2004, the area has been designated a national park by the Dutch government."

About the station:
"Discover everything you need to know about excursions and programs in the Holten area.
Observatory
The dome on the building of Buitencentrum Sallandse Heuvelrug is the place of the observatory. From this dome, with the help of telescopes, you have a spectacular view of the starry sky and the planets.
Routes
The route networks of the Sallandse Heuvelrug are constantly in motion. Not only on the routes themselves, but also online, they are constantly working on the further development of the routes.
Nature Museum Holterberg has existed for more than 80 years. Where many dioramas around the world have made way for other forms of exhibition, they are honored with much love and attention on the Holterberg.
In the museum, a small but beautiful permanent exhibition focuses on the history of the museum and the spiritual fathers Piet and Kees Bos."
