The Oklahoma Territorial Plaza on the north side of Perkins is an area dedicated to the history of early Oklahoma. Along one of the walkway, this gray granite bench honors William David Sasser (8/3/1875 - 6/21/1953 and his wife, Varena Stella Sherrod Sasser (1876 - 1929), and their children Arletta, Leola, Boyd and Bert. They were long-time residents of Perkins and are buried in nearby Perkins Cemetery.
