This zinc headstone is marked McClean and two of the plaques name three interred here: James Kerr McClean, a Civil War veteran and the first Postmaster of Florence; his wife, Elizabeth A. Donnell; and Deliverance Jane "Dilly" J. Rankin (nee Donnell) McClean. The other two plaques on the marker bear crossed swords, indicating a veteran, and an inscription: "First Postmaster and Merchant of Florence, 1870." This web page also names James McClean as the first Postmaster of Florence. However, in spite of numerous names listed on the find-a-grave sites linked here, I could not find the connection between "Dilly" and the other two, other than what is on the grave marker. As is usually the case with these zinc headstones, the grave marker is in excellent condition.
