Kendrick is a very small town located a few miles north of Davenport. There are no commercial businesses left in town and the few working folks in town are employed in neighboring areas.

The volunteer fire department is located at the corner of Main and 4th. This is a one-story metal building with a slightly gabled roof. There is one wide overhead bay facing south and another three bays on the west. This is a volunteer station, with 14 firefighters. An outdoor warning device is mounted on the east side of the firehouse, to alert residents to fire and weather events.
