The theme of this mural is 'enjoying the greenways' by bike. The mural has bicycles of various sizes, headed in two different directions, painted on a background of various warm hues of color representing the outdoors. The colors used are yellow, light & dark blue, green and white with additional bicycles of various sizes (even one with training wheels!) painted red, then attached to the wall of the building incorporating them into the mural giving the mural a dimensional effect. The mural covers more than half of the back of the building and wraps around the corner to part of the street side of the building that enhances the dimensional effect.
This mural was created by Autumn Cobeland in 2019. The artist wanted to portray her love and appreciation for the great outdoors, particularly the greenway trail system.
The mural is on the side of the Cruizer's Exxon Mart at 2301 Wendell Falls Parkway in Wendell and is on the back wall wrapping around to one half of the street side of the building. With the exception of the red bicycles attached to the wall, the mural is painted on the brick of the building. The artist is so dedicated to the greenway system that she has donated 20% of her sales to Raleigh Parks & Recreation Greenway System and the Triangle Greenways Council.
Let's ride!
