This tractor is located at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark near Kirtland, Ohio. It is next to the picnic pavilion near a large pond. The tractor has a wood staircase at the rear for children to climb onto the seat. A sign next to the tractor states:

1943 John Deere Model "B" Tractor
General purpose, row crop tractor.

"The John Deere B was first produced in 1935 as a smaller one-plow version of the popular Model A. Initially rated at 9 HP on the drawbar and 14 HP on the belt drive, the B was periodically upgraded. By the last year of its production in 1952 was rated at 25 and 28 HP respectively.

"The 1943 John Deere B, produced during World War II, was used as a primary tractor on small and medium farms (100-150 acres) and as a secondary tractor on larger ones. It can plow 5-6 acres per day. It features a six-speed transmission and a mechanical cultivator lift.

"In 1943 it cost $1,100 and was sold with all metal wheels. After the war, farmers upgraded to rubber tires. Lake Metroparks restored the B to its present operating condition in 1990."

Other antique tractors are spread throughout the Farmpark. There is an entrance fee to enter the park. Tickets are available at the park visitor center.
