Weir in the Coevorden Piccardie Canal that controls drainage and elevation.
The excess water falls like a small waterfall a few meters down and then flows away like a small stream.
There is no historical known about the weir.

"The Coevorden Piccardie Canal was dug between 1870 and 1904 and has a length of 26.5 km.
The Coevorden-Piccardie Canal (also Canal Coevorden-Alte Picardie) connects the German South-North Canal near Georgsdorf with the Dutch Stieltjes Canal near Coevorden. Originally built for shipping, the canal has been a drainage canal only since 1965."
