ENG:
In the tiles along the Molenstraat, on the corner with the railway line, I found a plaque and a separate pavement tile. This commemorates the couple Isaac Leijesdorff and Sarina Tea Leijesdorff-Hoek. In 1943 they fled Amsterdam for Ede and went into hiding in Ede. After a stay of three months at the Paasbergweg, the children are safely cared for in Amsterdam. The couple will live with the Karssenberg family in this building on the Molenstraat. On July 9, 1943, the couple and Mrs. Karssenberg are arrested. After being taken to camp Vught and Westerbork, they are sent to Sobibor to die there. The children and Mrs. Karssenberg survive the Second World War.
