More from the Smithsonian listing: "The central male figure holds a shield in proper left hand. The motto of the Illinois Athletic Club is on the shield. In his proper right hand he holds a sword. The side female figures are heralds with trumpets. One of the heralds holds out a crown of wild olive."
Since the frieze above (titled 'Olympian Games') was completed by Leon Hermant, these sculptures are also suspected to be by him as well.
The sculptures look well cared for, especially given the rather harsh Chicago winter weather.
