Three Rivers derives its name from its location at the confluence of the St. Joseph River and two tributaries, the Rocky and Portage rivers.
The silhouette on the wooden sign depicts a kayaker on the Rocky River heading into Scidmore Park in Three Rivers. The stone lighthouse in the park is also displayed on the sign with the Three Rivers skyline shown in the background.
