A plaque commemorating Charlotte Price White which is located on her former home in Bangor.
Born in Dumfries in Scotland she moved to Bangor with her husband and studied science at Bangor University.
She became the secretary and driving force of the Bangor branch of the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), which campaigned peacefully for women to be allowed to vote in Parliamentary elections.
She was one of only two women from the area who made the whole journey to London for the Suffrage Pilgrimage of 1913.
She was a member of the first Women's Institute branch started in the UK in Llanfairpwll in 1915.
She was one of the first women to be elected to the Caernarvonshire County council in 1926.
