James Millard Glavé (13 May 1933 - 5 June 2005) was an architect. He was known for bringing old architecture up to date which enabled much of Richmond to keep the look and feel of Richmond while becoming modern at the same time. He is known for the Shockoe Slip, Valentine Museum, Virginia Union University, etc. For his time, he was radical, now it is thankfully commonplace to keep old structures living well beyond their prime.
The gravestone is row houses in the front with a large building behind it. To the left of the grave is a stone bench.
His wife Patricia McKenna Glavé also passed away and is buried here. She was a sculptor and a patron of the Richmond Arts Community.
