NZ1044 - NGS 'PELICAN' Reference Mark 1 - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this reference mark in good condition as part of the PELICAN bench mark series, including recovering the AZ mark about .25 miles south of the summit.

REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS A STANDARD US COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY (NOW NOS) DISK STAMPED---PELICAN NO 1 1967---SET INTO THE TOP OF A METAL PIPE 8 CM (3 INCHES) IN DIAMETER PROJECTING 15 CM (6 INCHES) ABOVE THE GROUND LOCATED 18.9 METERS (62 FEET) E FROM THE SE CORNER OF A CONCRETE BLOCK BUILDING, 1.8 METERS (6 FEET) N FROM THE TRAIL ALONG THE TOP OF THE BLUFF, AND 0.3 METER (1 FOOT) LOWER THAN THE STATION.

Reference Mark 1's disk face has been bent on one side from heavy equipment but is still in good shape.
