"Gene Cortese opened the shop at 301 Broadway in 1956, simply calling it the Pizza Shop. It was the first pizza joint in town, and pizza has been served there ever since." ~ The Fargo Forum

The Forum article goes on to say the oldest restaurant in Fargo is known for homemade pizza. At Sammy's they grind their own beef, make their own sausage, slice the cheese by hand and the made from scratch dough is rolled and tossed right before your eyes.
