Located on the corner of Bridge Street and Washington Ave is an antique fire engine. Old Betsy was used by the LaBelle Fire Department starting in the 1950's. She was put up for public auction by the Hendry County Commission due to her not having a working engine and being so obsolete that parts could not be obtained. She stayed in auction for seven years. Finally the LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation bought it for $1 and has moved it to the main street area adjacent to the old firehouse for public display.
