We met on September 25, 1999 in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood ...never contemplating that we would ever be married. But one night in the Autumn of 2013, while watching the news....and another story about gay marriage becoming legal...we started to discuss it....and I casually asked Ramiro if we should get married. He immediately answered "Yes!" That conversation happened at our home in the Mariposa complex....which technically is a "Planned Unit Development"...but "condos" is so much easier.
And we did get married on January 31, 2014 surrounded by friends at the County Courthouse.
