[FR] Chenonceau est aussi appelé le Château des Dames, de par le fait que beaucoup de femmes ont exercé une influence sur la construction et le développement de ce monument. Pour cette raison, les 2 sphinx qui gardent l'entrée du parc du château y ont bien leur place. On doit passer entre eux après avoir parcouru la longue allée menant au château.
Mais, commençons par le début … Les sires de Marques possédèrent ici un château qui fut occupé par les Anglais pendant la guerre de cent ans.
