DE: Während eines Fliegerangriffs in der Nacht des 4. März 1945 suchte das Ehepaar Maria und Paul Jovy Schutz im Keller ihres Hauses in der Gartenstraße 10. Der Angriff war aber so heftig, dass keine Überlebenden aus den Häusern in der Gartenstraße geborgen werden konnten.
Nachdem der Sohn der Jovys aus der russischen Kriegsgefangenschaft (1948 oder 1949) nach Brühl zurückkehrte, ließ er durch seine Cousine, die Bildhauerin Marianne Jovy-Nakatenus, im Jahr 1950 den Stein schaffen. Er zeigt ein Paar, dass sich in einer innigen Umarmung befindet und mit sorgenvollem Gesicht auf den wahrscheinlichen Tod wartet.
Im Mai 2006 wurde die Grabstätte dann in die Liste der Baudenkmäler der Stadt Brühl unter der Nummer 248 eingetragen, da sie an die Schrecken des Krieges erinnere, aber auch aus künstlerischen Motiven erhaltenswert sei.

EN: During an air raid on the night of March 4, 1945, the married couple Maria and Paul Jovy sought protection in the basement of their house at Gartenstrasse 10. The attack was so violent that no survivors were rescued from the houses in Gartenstrasse.
After the son of the Jovys returned to Brühl from Russian captivity (1948 or 1949), he had the stone created by his cousin, the sculptor Marianne Jovy-Nakatenus, in 1950. It shows a couple who are in a deep embrace and are waiting for the probable death with worried faces.
In May 2006 the grave was entered in the list of architectural monuments of the city of Brühl under the number 248, as it reminds of the horrors of war, but is also worth preserving for artistic reasons.
