Big Spring surfaces about 1/2 mile south of the confluence it has been enclosed for most of this distance.

"On the south side of Williamsburg is a large natural spring locally named The Big Spring. This water source is the reason Charles Schwab, the steel tycoon wanted to build a steel mill in Williamsburg. Ultimately Schwab built a paper mill and a housing development on the east side of Williamsburg, referred to as Schwab Town in the early years." Wikipedia

The coordinates that are posted with taken at the south bank of the Juniata and the East bank of the spring creek. This feature can be accessed off of the Lower Trail an Rails to Trails trail.
