Big Spring surfaces about 1/2 mile south of the confluence it has been enclosed for most of this distance.
"On the south side of Williamsburg is a large natural spring locally named The Big Spring. This water source is the reason Charles Schwab, the steel tycoon wanted to build a steel mill in Williamsburg.
